Korean boy band NU'EST old songs are charting on music sites, thanks to their stint on the hit survival TV show "Produce 101" Season 2.

Four members of the group, Kang Dongho, Kim Jong Hyun, Choi Min Ki and Hwang Min Hyun, joined the TV program as contestants and their popularity surged in the last three months. Aron did not participate in the program.

During the show's finale, Hwang Min Hyun emerged as one of the 11 winners and will be part of the new boy band Wanna One until December 2018. As such, he will be inactive in NU'EST's activities.

NU'EST debuted in 2012 but struggled to find success and they considered "Produce 101" as their last straw to prop up their career.

"We're thinking of this as our last chance. We're here because we're that desperate," they said in April when the show started, according to Soompi.

During the run of the show from April to June, NU'EST's popularity surged and after the program ended on June 16, their old songs have risen on music charts and Pledis announced that they would be making their comeback.

"Hello," released in 2013, peaked at No. 3 on the Melon chart. It also charted on Genie and Bugs, and entered the Top 50 in other charts.

Fans have also asked Pledis Entertainment to immediately prepare for NU'EST's comeback soon.

The agency finally announced a concrete plan for NU'EST.

"We will all work hard so that the road that Jonghyun, Minhyun, Minki, Dongho, and Aron have walked for the past five years, no matter how difficult, was not for nothing, and so that their future road can be happy. And we hope everyone can watch over their road always. We once again thank you for the love you have shown the five members," Pledis said, AllKPop reported.

NU'EST members also thanked fans for their support during "Produce 101."

"I'm so grateful for everything. I want to keep showing you a better side of me in the future and thank you so much for giving me that opportunity. I promise to do my best," wrote Kang Dong Ho on Instagram, according to Soompi.

Kim Jong Hyun said, "Thank you so much to the fans that have supported me to this point! It is now a great memory that I have gained a lot from!"
