After commencing its first nuclear test in 2006, North Korea has advanced in this field at a very fast pace. They have performed various missile tests over the years with a drastic increase this year. In its sixth and latest nuclear missile test conducted on September 3, North Korea has claimed a successful test on the explosion of a hydrogen bomb.

According to its official news agency, the country's leader, Kim Jung Un on Wednesday called for a celebration of the test's success. Kim threw a banquet to commend the nuclear scientists and other high ranked military officials who had contributed to the nuclear bomb test followed by art performances and a photo session with him.

Fireworks lit up the skies in Pyongyang, the city's capital as the North Korean people celebrated the success of the latest missile test by throwing purple and pink pom poms in the air and wearing their best party clothes. According to Fox News, thousands of cheering citizens on the streets welcomed the scientists responsible for the test's success. They also attended a mass rally where rally speakers pledged to end US supremacy.

North Korea claimed the latest test was a perfect success as its impact would be four to five times more powerful than the explosion of Nagasaki.
With advances in its long range missile tests, North Korea has agitated countries like the US, South Korea and has also violated UN Security Council resolutions. In this gallery, IBTimes Singapore has compiled a series of images of the celebrations following the tests.
