'My Golden Life,' 'Infinite Challenge' top Korean TV show picks in December

The ratings hit twice-a-week drama "My Golden Life" on KBS2 and the MBC variety show "Infinite Challenge" which topped the favorite TV shows by Koreans for the month of December.

Gallup Korea held a survey on November 14 to 16 among 1,007 respondents aged over 19 to know their TV show preferences.

"My Golden Life" took first place with 8.6 percent. Starring Park Si-hoo, Shin Hye-sun, Lee Tae-hwan and Seo Eun-soo, the drama started in September and will end in February 2018. Gallup Korea said "My Golden Life" is the first drama to be placed first for two straight months since "Empress Ki" in March and April in 2014.

"Infinite Challenge," which stars Yoo Jae Suk, Haha, Park Myeong-su, Jeong Jun-ha, Haha and Yang Se-hyung, grabbed second place with 8 percent. The TV program aired reruns when MBC employees went on strike last September and came back with new episodes in November.

JTBC's talk show "Ssulzun" with Kim Gura and Rhyu Simin, took third place with 4.7 percent followed by tvN's "Encyclopedia of Useless Facts 2," 3.9 percent; MBC's "I Live Alone" and JTBC's "Ask Us Anything," 2.9 percent; MBN's "Living in Nature," 2.7 percent; SBS's "My Ugly Duckling," 2.6 percent; KBS' "The Secret of My Love," 2.5 percent; and MBC Every1's "Welcome, First Time in Korea?" and SBS's "Same Bed Different Dreams 2-You Are My Destiny," 2.3 percent.

In November, "My Golden Life" topped the survey followed by "Ssulzun" and for the month of October, "Ssulzun" came first followed by "Infinite Challenge.
