US President Donald Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital has been met with a wave of disapproval as the entire Muslim world has erupted with criticism. Muslims set fire to US and Israeli flags and destroyed effigies of Trump in Muslim-majority countries around the world, including Pakistan, Afghanistan, Egypt and Indonesia.

The militant al-Qaida network has urged its followers across the globe to target vital interests of the United States, its allies and Israel. A statement posted on al-Qaida's media arm as-Sahab called for holy war or jihad and described America as an oppressor of Muslims.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said that at least one Palestinian was killed in a clash between protesters and Israeli troops along the Gaza border fence. Dozens more were reported wounded in clashes in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

The latest announcement from Trump regarding Jerusalem has triggered widespread international condemnation, including from US allies. Several European leaders have also warned that this decision could further destabilise the region. In this gallery, IBTimes Singapore has compiled a series of images that shows the Muslim world protestesting against the decision across the globe.
