Miley Cyrus' 'lifeless body found in a bathtub' is hoax

Miley Cyrus was spotted with Liam Hemsworth in Malibu on 5 September.

American singer/actress Miley Cyrus is not dead. The former Disney star is the latest victim of celebrity death hoax.

The death rumours started after a hoax website, Now8News, published an article claiming she was found death at her Hollywood home. The bogus report stated: "Miley Cyrus' lifeless body was found by her entourage in a bathtub at her Hollywood home on Wednesday, authorities revealed. Los Angeles investigators are trying to determine the cause of death. Officials refused to comment on reports that the famed actress/singer drowned from a prescription pill overdose. They have, however, made it clear that there were no signs of foul play."

Cyrus has not directly addressed the death hoax. However, she has posted several pictures on Instagram, including selfies, proving she is not dead. Adding on, the 23-year-old singer was spotted with Liam Hemsworth in Malibu on 5 September.

The list of celebrities affected by similar hoaxes is growing all the time, and includes comedian Bill Cosby, Bill Nye the Science Guy, Reese Witherspoon, Robert Pattinson, Margaret Thatcher, Phil Collins, Kris Jenner, Denzel Washington, Adele, John Witherspoon, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.
