Michelin to launch second edition of Singapore guide 2017 on June 29

Michelin has announced that it will officially release its second Singapore guide on 29 June 2017.

Michelin has announced that it will officially release its second Singapore guide on 29 June 2017 at the Michelin Guide Singapore 2017 Star Event, to be held at The Fullerton Hotel.

There is no doubt that Singapore is one of the best culinary destinations for exploration. Last year, Singapore's status as a world-class dining destination got a new twist with Michelin's new Singapore guide featuring 29 of the city's top dining places including two street vendors.

Following this, Singapore's Liao Fan Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle has become the world's cheapest place to have a Michelin-star meal. Yes, the iconic Chan Hon Meng's chicken rice dish is priced at just S$2 ($1.42).

A press release on Michelin's official website stated, "Results for restaurants in the 2017 guide will be announced during the five-course dinner prepared by chefs from both local and overseas Michelin-starred restaurants. Joining chefs Curtis Duffy and Tam Kwok Fung in the star line-up are local talents Seita Nakahara from Tokyo-Italian restaurant terra, who uses Japanese ingredients to turn out delicious Italian classics, and Jason Tan from Corner House, known for his presentation of Gastro Botanica cuisine. Both chefs were awarded one star in last year's guide. Dessert will be prepared by chef Cheung Siu Kong of one-Michelin-starred Summer Pavilion."

Tickets for the event can be purchased on guide.michelin.sg at S$595++ per seat. Here is the complete list of 2016 Michelin-star dining places in the city:
