MBC to create new 'mini drama' broadcast format with Three Colors of Fantasies

Korean television network MBC is trying to do something unique with its new drama series. According to reports, on January 26 MBC will release its first "mini-mini drama series" known as Three Colors of Fantasies.

Reportedly, this Three Colors of Fantasies will have of three different fantasy tales for the viewers. According to KoreaDaily, "Produced by MBC and Naver, the drama invites three producers – namely, Kim Ji-hyun, Park Sang-hoon, and Kwon Seong-chan – to each take in charge of a three-episode-long fantasy drama."

Among the three, the first one to be aired is Star of the Universe. The drama starring Exo's Suho and Ji-woo will tell the story of a romantic relationship between a celebrity and his fan who after death has become a Grim Reaper.

The other drama known as Romance Full of Life casts Yoon Shi-yoon and Jo Soo-hyang. This drama revolves around a sad reality of Noryangjin, a neighborhood in Seoul that is packed with highly ambitious people who are studying for civil service exams.

Yoon Shi-yoon is also one of them, who "makes a transformation into a poor young adult studying for the police exam for 4 years," KoreaDaily reported.

The third drama is Queen of the Ring starring popular young actors and actresses, Kim Seul-gi and Ahn Hyo-seop. The story of the drama is about a common girl who succeeded the 'One Ring,' it is a ring which has a great power to develop a romantic relationship.

This is a collaborative project of MBC and Naver and they took an unusual format to release the series. According to the reports, each episode will be pre-released through Naver in the form web-drama and after the web release; the resolutions of stories will be televised few days.

Tthrough 2015's popular 2-episode drama Splash Splash Love, MBC and Naver had earlier proved the power of using two platforms. And, now they are creating a new broadcasting format with Three Colors of Fantasies.
