Marvel's Black Panther chases villain through the streets of Busan [VIDEO]

The chase sequence was filmed in Busan's Gwangalli Beach area.

Filming for Marvel's 'Black Panther' already began in January this year beginning in Atlanta, Georgia. It was learned in February that a major chase sequence in the movie would be shot in the city of Busan in South Korea. The production has in fact begun shooting the epic scene.

Koreaboo notes that the production team of 'Black Panther' have begun shooting a chase scene for the eighteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The chase sequence took place in Busan's Gwangalli Beach area. Excited fans and passers-by were even able to film parts of the chase scene being shot and uploaded them on social media.

One of the shots feature the titular hero T'Challa/Black Panther riding atop a speeding blue sports car. It isn't known whether the man inside the suit is actor Chadwick Boseman himself or his stunt-double. Watch the clip below.

It may be guessed that the Black Panther is chasing a bad guy, who is probably none other than chief antagonist Erik Killmonger, played by 'Creed' star Michael B. Jordan. He is an exile from Wakanda and seeks to overthrow the former. It might also be Andy Serkis's Ulysses Klaue, who has a metal arm that doubles as a weapon.

Klaue is described on Marvel.com as "Ulysses Klaue is a black-market arms dealer, smuggler and gangster operating out of South Africa. He is a former acquaintance of Tony Stark from his weapons-dealing days. During an encounter with Ultron, Klaue sold his stockpile of Vibranium to the A.I. before losing his arm in an argument with Ultron."

However, the identity of the character being chased is not known at this point.

Director Ryan Coogler, as mentioned by The Hollywood Reporter (THR) complimented the beauty of Busan and said it reminded him of his Northern California hometown. He added: "Busan is a place full of energy, where modern architecture and traditional buildings create great harmony against the backdrop of a beautiful beach."

THR had earlier noted that a production service company from Busan called Mr. Romance Film had distributed a notice to the port city residents regarding the shoot of the movie in advance. The notice mentioned: "The shoot will be a car chase scene between the protagonist and villain, and will involve some 150 cars and more than 700 people."

The note added: "The chase scene will also require the use of helicopters and guns (shot blanks). Traffic restrictions and noise are expected, and may inconvenience residents and visitors."

Other areas in South Korea where 'Black Panther' would be shot include the Gwangandaegyo Bridge, Marine City, Jagalchi fish market and the Sajik-dong area.

'Black Panther' releases worldwide on February 26, 2018.
