Overview

Arsenal travel to Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria, to take on local side Ludogorets Razgrad in their Champions League Group A clash on 1 November.

When the two teams last met in October, the Gunners crushed their Bulgarian opponents 6-0. While Mesut Ozil scored a hat-trick, Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain found the back of the net once each to complete the demolition act.

Courtesy of a point against Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain and handsome wins against Basel and Ludogorets, Arsene Wenger's men are well placed to all but earn their berth in the last-16 stages of the tournament if they snatch a win on Tuesday.

Wenger is high on confidence and is focussed on helping his team top the Group by fending off a firm challenge from PSG. Under the 67-year-old, the Gunners have been in top form this season and stitched a 14-game unbeaten streak since their 4-3 defeat to Liverpool in their Premier League opener.

"It is our prime target to win the group. We have a home game with PSG to come so we have a good opportunity," Wenger was quoted as saying by the BBC.

However, Wenger would miss the services of some of the key stars, including Hector Bellerin, Santi Cazorla, Theo Walcott and Nacho Monreal, due to injuries. Nevertheless, the Frenchman would have wanted to rest his regulars and test the bench strength on Tuesday.

On the other hand, Ludogorets will face an uphill task at home even if they face a second-string Arsenal unit on Tuesday. However, their recent domestic form, which saw them win seven matches on the trot, will motivate them to give a stiff fight to the Premier League giants.
