Lee Min Ho-starring SBS drama Legend of the Blue Sea is going through a roller coaster of emotions, setting up a perfect potboiler with audiences turning in their seats to know what the future holds for the key characters.. In the last episode, we saw the antagonist Lee Hee-Joon's character, who realized that Jun Ji-hyun's character is a mermaid, teaming up with his childhood friend Kang Ji-yeon to plot the killing of Heo Gil-going.

Meanwhile, Lee Min Ho's character decides to meet his father, leaving Jun Ji-hyun's character with his mentor. However, after he reaches the hospital, he hears the news about his father's demise but without giving much time for grieving, he had to return to save the silver-tailed mermaid from Jo Nam-doo.

According to Korea Portal, there is a rumour that the story might see the demise of Mo Yoo Ran, Heo Joon Jae or Shim Chung. "An accident on the road is bound to take place when one of these characters crosses and a vehicle hits him or her. Other details from the popular K-drama are still being kept under wraps," the report added. Another speculation states that the silver mermaid will be back on the streets after trying to hide away from the villains, who are planning to sell her for millions of dollars.

Another report published by ASZ states that the upcoming episodes will feature the return of Joon Jae's mom. "Their reunion is expected to change the direction of the TV show. Elsewhere, Jun Ji-Hyun will also be dealing with a lot of things," it added. The report further added that Shim Chung will soon celebrate her birthday, and she will invite her closest friends and one among them will be her long-lost mother, Mo Yoo Ran. "But their reunion may be a little too late since the latter is the most likely one to be killed off," it said.

Since SBS has not yet released any trailers and promotional photos of the next episode, fans have to wait until Wednesday to find the fate of Heo Joon-jae and Shim Cheong.

"The Legend of the Blue Sea" airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10 p.m. on SBS.
