The search and rescue teams are working at the accident sight to rescue people, if any.

At least two people died and four were injured on Wednesday after an overhead pedestrian bridge, which was under construction, collapsed in Kuala Lumpur.

Samsol Maarif Saibani, the City Fire and Rescue Department chief operations officer, said they were informed about the incident near Jalan Kampung Haji Abdullah Hukum at about 3.33 pm.

He also said that firemen from three fire stations in Pantai, Hang Tuah and Seputeh have been dispatched to the scene. The Fire and Rescue Department K9 unit is also to be deployed to assist in the search and rescue operations.

Star Media Radio Traffic reported that the traffic is quite heavy on four roads due to the collapse.
