There is always something refreshing about travel stories, whether they be books, films or television dramas. New places are discovered and new people meet. JTBC's upcoming drama "The Package" is offering viewers all such excitements, with a story set in Paris of all places. Cast members have revealed their thoughts on being a part of the travel drama.
As noted by website Soompi, a press conference for JTBC drama "The Package" was held on October 11. The leading actors, Lee Yeon-hee and CNBLUE's Jung Yong-hwa revealed what attracted them towards the project.
Lee Yeon-hee, who plays a tour guide in the drama, was asked what made her decide to be a part of "The Package." She responded, "It felt like fate when I first saw this drama. When I was in my twenties, I once went on a package tour to France by myself. One of the most memorable things about my trip was how charming our guide was. I remember thinking that I hoped I could play a character like that guide if I ever got the chance."
She added, "And almost like it was fate, 'The Package' came along and gave me the chance to play a travel guide. To fully understand my role, I actually traveled to the locations we would be filming in advance to really see and feel what I'd be explaining as a guide. I also worked on my French for a month because I needed to speak French in the drama." Her character Yoon So-so is someone who goes to study in France and starts working as a travel guide to earn money for her tuition fees. Lee Yeon-hee had her wish come true.
Jung Yong-hwa plays a character who recently got dumped by her girlfriend. Heartbroken, he decides to go on a trip to France to take his mind off such sad emotions. Yong-hwa said, "I decided to appear in the drama because when I got the script, I really enjoyed the mood and feel of it. It felt like a heartfelt and pure story, and I was confident that I could take on the character. I also liked that we were going to be filming in France." "The Package" will be Yong-hwa's first drama in three years since he starred in tvN's 2014 drama 'The Three Musketeers.'
The first episode of "The Package" premieres on October 13. It will air every Friday and Saturday 8.30 p.m. KST on JTBC.
