Kevin Lilliana of Indonesia wins Miss International 2017; Singapore fails to make it to top 15

Kevin Lilliana of Indonesia succeeded Philippines' Kylie Verzosa after winning the Miss International 2017 pageant in Tokyo, Japan.

Kevin Lilliana of Indonesia succeeded Philippines' Kylie Verzosa after winning the Miss International 2017 pageant in Tokyo, Japan on Tuesday. The Indonesian beauty beat 69 other candidates from across the globe to win the crown.

"I still can't believe it. It's a dream come true," Lilliana said after winning the crown.

Apart from Indonesia, Chanelle Wilhelmina Maria of Curacao was crowned the first runner-up, while Diana Macarena Croce Garcia from Venezuela was awarded the position of second runner-up. Australia's Amber Dew took the third spot and Japan's Natsuki Tsutsui came fourth.

Other contestants who managed to reach the top 8 were from Ecuador, Japan, Laos, United Kingdom, and Australia. All candidates competed in the national costume, swimsuit and evening gown competitions before the judges selected the top 15, top 8, and the top 5.

There were a separate set of special awards, including the Best National Costume and a few others. Japan's Natsuki Tsutsui won the Best National Costume, Miss Perfect Body was given to Amber Dew, Australia and the Best Dressed went to Kevin Lilliana, Indonesia.

Apart from all these awards, the beauty pageant also saw some special award winners. Miss International Asia was awarded to Korea; Miss International Europe was given to the United Kingdom; Miss International Africa went to Ghana; Miss International America to Bolivia and Miss International Oceania was given to New Zealand. Unfortunately Kylie Yeo from Singapore could not make it to the top 15.
