Overview

Atletico de Kolkata take on Mumbai City FC in the first semi-final first leg of ISL 2016 on 10 December. Kolkata, who finished fourth at the end of the group stages with just four wins, have reached their third successive ISL semi-final and are the only team in the league to have done so. They have been unbeaten in their last six games but have managed to win only one, which will be a concern for coach Jose Molina, who will rue his team's finishing skills.

Ian Hume will be the one to watch out on the big night for Kolkata as he has been in solid goal-scoring form with five goals so far in the tournament. Helder Postiga, who will be seen in the number 10 role, will also have a key role to play against a solid Mumbai backline.

On the other hand, Mumbai, who have never made it to the last-four stages of the tournament, have looked solid this season with their marquee signing Diego Forlan working wonders for the team. His five goals have come at crucial situations and his work rate has been a positive boost for the leaders.

Krisztian Vadocz and Matias Defederico have also done a remarkable job in pulling the strings for the team. Also, Mumbai have the in-form India international Sunil Chhetri, who joined the team late after having a remarkable AFC Cup campaign. After spending time on the turf on four occasions, he will be raring to make a bigger impact in the league.

Mumbai also have Lucian Goian, who has been solid for them at the back. Alexandre Guimares' side have only conceded eight goals, which is the least by any team in the tournament.

However in front of what could be a packed home crowd, Kolkata will look to make the most and put themselves in the front before heading to Mumbai for the return leg on 13 December.
