Overview

Singapore Slammers host Indian Aces in the final match of Singapore leg of International Premier League 2016 at the Indoor Stadium on 8 December.

The Slammers, who had an ordinary opening leg in Japan which saw them losing two matches, have bounced back in their home leg with back-to-back wins. They are now tied a point behind their Thursday's opponents, who are on top after winning three matches and collecting two bonus points as well.

Notably, the Slammers have been unbeaten since they clinched their first win of the ongoing tournament against Warriors in Japan. They also have won the most number of games - 130, eight more than their nearest rivals, Aces.

In the absence of Serena Williams, Kiki Bertens has been a solid performer for the Slammers. The 25-year-old Dutch players has won three successive sets in her last three matches. Nick Kyrgios also has stepped up and has beaten tough opponents in Tomas Berdych and Fernando Verdasco.

The Slammers are heading into their last home game on the back of 30-18 crushing of the UAE Royals. On the other hand, Aces, who have been doing well to keep themselves among the top-two spots, slipped to a 20-27 defeat to the Warriors on Wednesday.

While Feliciano Lopez has not been performing well in the Men's singles for the Aces, their mixed doubles pairing of Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna have been solid. Meanwhile, Lopez has been able to combine well with Ivan Dodig in the Men's doubles and the team have produced the right results for them.

Given that the top spot is up for the taking, both teams would want to head into the final leg of the ongoing tournament as pack leaders. Slammers will also want to avenge their defeat earlier in this season in front of their home crowd on Thursday.
