Apple is prepping the debut of 'Enhanced Receiver' with the earpiece on the next-gen iPhone aka iPhone 8, which is also likely to see more improvements to stereo sound and waterproofing. Along the lines of the iPhone 7, the forthcoming flagship iPhone is touted to get an enhanced earpiece receiver that doubles up as a speaker with stereo sound capability, besides the newly introduced waterproofing feature in accordance with IP68 rated water-resistance.

A new research note from JPMorgan also claims that the iPhone 8 could feature AirPods rather than EarPods. However, considering the delayed shipping estimates that extend over five months after the release of wireless earphones, it seems unlikely that the iPhone 8 would get the highly-anticipated AirPods as the default accessory.

Consequently, we could see the AirPods being sold separately as premium upgrades for the iPhone 8's EarPods or as bundled accessory with its cost being added to the handset's selling price.

Meanwhile, another JPMorgan analyst named Rod Hall (US) has claimed that Apple could indeed preview the iPhone 8 at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. As the iPhone maker has traditionally previewed or unveiled its flagship phones in the fall of every year, it seems very unlikely that we will get to see the next-gen iPhone at the WWDC.

Nevertheless, it is quite plausible that Apple could introduce a new OS and display size with the new iPhone 8 later this year.
