How to solve Cydia 'Impactor.exe Has Stopped Working' error in Windows 10

Windows PC owners have recently reported a new issue on their Cydia Impactor tool. Some users were unable to use the tool due to the "Impactor.exe Has Stopped Working" error.

The problem occurs when sideloading apps or jailbreaking a device which is not really uncommon in the community. While there is no immediate patch released to solve this error, some users were able to discover an effective workaround.

How to fix Cydia "Impactor.exe Has Stopped Working" error

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to fix the unfunctional Cydia Impactor tool on Windows 10:

Step 1: Launch Windows PC and head into Settings > Accounts > Family & other people.

Step 2: Add or create another person on your PC. To do this, select Add someone else to this PC and then follow onscreen instructions.

Step 3: Select I don't have this person's sign-in information > Add a user without a Microsoft account.

Step 4: Give the new account a name and a password and click Next. Remember the new credentials for sign-in purposes.

Step 5: You should be redirected to the main Settings window. Go to Family & other people > Other people and look for the newly added account. Click on it, then choose Change account type to pull the drop-down menu.

Step 6: Select Administrator > OK.

Step 7: Sign out your computer's main account and log the new user in. You should be able to use your Cydia Impactor tool through the new user.

Late in October, the community also reported a certificate authentication error in Cydia Impactor that affected tonnes of users. Fortunately, the error was immediately patched through Cydia Impactor 0.9.43 update.
