After the 'Carpool Karaoke' of James Corden with celebrity guest Harry Styles, fans were able to witness a more grown-up Styles, far from what people usually sees in him as one-fifth of One Direction. In the 13-minute karaoke session, Styles shows his emotional side, belts out a couple of songs from his new album, and talks about his mum and The Notebook.

Styles talks getting emotional

Harry Styles just proved there is more to him than meets the eye as he ended his week-long guesting on The Late Late Show with James Corden on a Carpool Karaoke. Even if it is on hiatus due to some changes in its programming, Carpool Karaoke aired and gave exemption to the ex-One Direction member. Styles and Corden opened the karaoke session with the guest's hit single Sign of the Times from his debut solo album.

The 23-year-old British singer admitted that the song makes him emotional sometimes.

"It makes me cry performing it sometimes. I find it quite emotional...in like, a cool way," says Styles.

He also shared that his mum cried when he played it to her, to which Corden joked, "She wasn't crying like, 'oh my Gosh, your career is over'"? The tandem also sang Sweet Creature, the favourite song of Style's mum from his self-titled album.

Gender bending perspective

Apart from talking about Style's bold fashion choices that ended up for the two changing different sets of "nipple-y" and "embarrassing" clothes, it is quite noticeable that the singer is on his way to David Bowie and Prince's gender bending perspective. Styles and Corden belted out what the former shared as her go-to song in karaoke—Lionel Richie and Diana Ross' classic Endless Love.

Being a huge fan of romantic comedies, Styles revealed his affection for The Notebook as it is his favourite film. The guest even went on to reenact roles of Julia Roberts in Notting Hill as Anna and Kate Winslet in Titanic as Rose.

This is Styles' second appearance on Carpool Karaoke. The first time was in 2016 with his One Direction bandmates Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson.
