Smartphone fans around the world will save this date, September 12. Ask why? The most awaited smartphone of the year will reportedly be launched on this day. Which means the MWC Americas will clash with the iPhone 8 launch. However, the event will be a three-day affair, starting September 12 and will be concluded on the 14th.

Starting Tuesday September 12, the event will showcase upcoming trends in mobile technology. 5G and Artificial Intelligence will be the most talked about technologies at MWC Americas 2017. Major American carriers such as Sprint, Verizon and AT&T are said to showcase their plans with 5G and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) technology which if successful, will help decrease the amount of proprietary hardware that's needed to launch and operate network services. Reportedly 5G technology will take center stage with topics such as 'Video and Entertainment in a 5G World' and '5G Release Crucial for Next-Gen Applications.'

Several industry experts are expected to talk about the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The event will serve as a platform for up and coming tech companies to showcase the possibilities of AI. There will be several summits and one of the most interesting ones will be on the prospect of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) in Entertainment.

Apart from all the talks and summits, the event will also play host to the 4th Annual Global Women in STEM Conference and Awards. The Internet of Things (IoT) will also be a hot topic of debate.
