After a lot of speculations, Alphabet Inc., which is the parent company of Google, has finally announced that they are going to bring their Digital Assistant, which is almost Siri equivalent to all smartphones that are running the latest versions of the android operating system.

Google Assistant was first introduced by the firm in its Allo app and was marketed to be one of the biggest innovative steps taken to create a chatbot/AI interface that is capable of doing heavy duty stuff as well as make small banter like telling you a joke or send across a poem once in a while. But it didn't manage to get much traction on its feet and the firm has been keeping it to itself by using it for phones like Google Pixel and Pixel Xl. The only other phone that has this virtual assistant is the LG G6 keeping in accord with the company's 'Less Artificial, More Intelligence' theme.

"The Google Assistant will automatically come to eligible Android phones running Nougat and Marshmallow with Google Play Services. You'll also see the Google Assistant on some newly announced partner devices, including the LG G6," said Gummi Hafsteinsson, Product Lead, Google Assistant.

According to tech research firm IDC, android dominates 85 per cent of the market share whereas Apple has only a measly 15 per cent to its credit thus we can very well gather that this is going to be a huge roll out in the offing. This week the Google Assistant is expected to roll out to English speakers in the United States and then Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom will get their update next, which is going to be followed by German speaking users and the firm says it is working to bring the Google Assistant in other languages as well.

"Our goal is to make the Assistant available anywhere you need it," Gummi Hafsteinsson, product lead for the Google Assistant, said in a blog post published on Sunday. "With this update, hundreds of millions of Android users will now be able to try out the Google Assistant."
