Minzy's recent outing on screen was reality show Sisters' Slam Dunk season 2 alongside Kim Sook, Hong Jin Kyung, Kang Ye Won, Hang Chae Young, Hong Jin Young, and Jeon Somi Chave. In the show, the participants attempt at fulfilling each cast member's dream using a budget of 2,196,000 won which is about $2,000 USD. The show aired its first broadcast in February and Minzy was adjudged as the main singer, lead dancer, dance tutor and choreographer for the second generation of Unnies led by producer and composer Kim Hyung Suk.

Minzy made her debut as a part of 2Ne1 alongside Bom, Dara, and CL. The band shot to fame with their 2009 debut single "Fire" but became a household name worldwide after releasing their boastful girl power anthem "I'm the Best." The girl-band has broken the record for the highest-charting K-pop album on the Billboard 200 with "Crush." However, Minzy, officially left the group in 2016 to pursue her solo career. Soon after, the rest of the group was disbanded with YG Entertainment renewing CL and Dara's contract as solo artists. 2NE1's last album was released almost two years ago -- Crush, in 2014 and it last performed together as a three-member band at the 2015 Mnet Asia Music Awards (MAMA). Their final single "Good Bye" was released on January 21, 2017, sans Minzy.
