Gong Yoo's newly premiered drama Goblin has become the top K-drama with record-breaking premiere ratings in tvN's history. The drama has a unique plot laced with twist and turns and of course a star-studded casting coup. Not just in South Korea, the drama seems to have caught the attention of the world with an impressive international rating.

Meanwhile, what caught the attention of Hallyu fans is the newly released stills of Goblin, which shows the first meeting between Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In Na, adding more fury to the excitement. The images show the grim reaper shedding tears when he meets Sunny that clearly makes way for a sexy romance in the upcoming episodes. "The scene shows the first meeting between Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In Na. Their romance will be a delicate and mysterious one as it develops throughout the drama," the production team reportedly revealed.

According to media reports, Goblin received 7,449 points, beating other popular dramas like Descendants of the Sun-5,518 points, Answer Me 1988-5,260 points and Moonlight Drawn by Clouds-4,720 points and recently The Legend of the Blue Sea-4,315 points.

The first episode of the drama hit an average of 6.9% and a best of 9.3% beating tvN's previous best drama Reply 1988. Meanwhile, Goblin has also been ranked as the number on for the TV hot issue section for dramas beating Lee Min Ho's The Legend of the Blue Sea. Reportedly, Goblin has received twice the points than Blue Sea.

Lead actor Gong Yoo has thanked his fans and supporters for the overwhelming response. He said that he was more nervous that a movie premiere. Interesting, this is his first drama in four years. Kim Go Eun plays the female lead while Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In Na appearing in prominent roles. "The road ahead is long and sleepless, but please supports us so that the 'Goblin' team can continue to forge ahead without any accidents and with smiling faces," he was reportedly quoted saying. On the other hand, fans have also started writing their own theories and story plots for the upcoming episodes.
