Overview

The last time these two sides met each other in the European championship saw Germany suffer a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Italy in the semi-final of the Euro 2016. Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli was the star player for his side as they made it to the final, only to lose to eventual winners Spain.

Antonio Conte has managed to help the Azzurri to beat the defending champions in the Round of 16 in this edition of the tournament. A 2-0 victory has seen Italy make it to the quarter-final and they will be looking to beat Germany on Saturday.

The World Champions, on the other hand registered a comfortable 3-0 victory over Slovakia. With that win, they extended their record of not conceding any goals in the Euro 2016 to four matches and Joachin Low will be hiping that Germany could extend that record when they face Italy in the third quarter-final of the tournament.
