Gallup reveals most favorite Korean movie actors in 2017

It conducted a survey among 1,700 Koreans aged 13 and above from November 8 to 28 based on its "Person of the Year" theme.

Gallup Korea has released the most favorite Korean movie actors of the year 2017

It conducted a survey among 1,700 Koreans aged 13 and above from November 8 to 28 based on its "Person of the Year" theme.

Song Kang Ho, who starred in this year's No. 1 film "A Taxi Driver," came first with 35 percent. "A Taxi Driver" is the only film in Korea which has reached 10 million audiences this year. The 50-year-old actor was previously voted the top actor in 2008 and 2013.

Ma Dong Seok of the "Train to Busan" film grabbed second place with 17.8 percent. This year, he appeared in the films "Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds," "The Mayor," "Wonderful Life," "The Outlaws" and "The Bros." He placed 10th in the survey last year.

Lee Byung Hun placed third with 12.6 percent. His movies this year were "The Fortress" and "Single Rider." He was first in 2009 and 2012.

Hwang Jung Min grabbed fourth place with 8.1 percent. He starred in "The Battleship Island" and "Duke" in 2017.

Tied for fifth place are Ha Jung Woo and Sol Kyung Gu with 6.3 percent. Ha Jung Woo's films for the year are "Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds" and "1987: When the Day Comes" while Sol Kyung Gu appeared in "Lucid Dream" and "The Merciless."

Popular star Gong Yoo of "Train to Busan" is seventh with 6.2 percent despite that he has no film projects for this year.

Song Joong Ki came eight with 5.8 percent. He starred in the controversial film "The Battleship Island."

Ninth is Jung Woo Sung with 5.2 percent while Yoo Hae Jin is tenth with 5.1 percent.

Others in the Top 20 are Choi Min-sik, 4.2 percent; Kim Hye Soo, 3.8 percent; Hyun Bin and Yoon Kye Sang, 3.1 percent; Na Moon Hee, 2.2 percent; and Kim Joo hyuk and Jun Ji-hyun, 2 percent.
