Galaxy Note 7 launch tipped for 2 August in leaked Samsung invite

Freshly leaked Samsung invite for upcoming Galaxy Unpacked Event hints at the Note 7 launch in New York.

Samsung's highly-anticipated tablet, the Galaxy Note 7 returns to spotlight as a freshly leaked image pertaining to the Galaxy Unpacked 2016 event has surfaced online. The image clearly hints that the upcoming flagship tablet in the Note series would be unveiled at the grand unpacked event with a curved edge screen.

According to SamMobile, it is still unclear if Samsung would be unveiling the Galaxy Note 7 or the Note 7 Edge at the Alice Tully Hall, Licoln Center in New York during the grand unpacked event on 2 August.

However, the five inverted L-shaped lines in the image apparently denote the number 7 in the Galaxy Note series while the text message: "The next edge is just around the corner" hints that it could be the Galaxy Note 7 edge indeed.

Considering the release pattern with the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge in the flagship line-up, it is almost certain that the next Galaxy device would be the Note 7 Edge.

As far as the rumoured specifications are concerned, the Note 7 edge will feature a 5.8in Quad-HD display with curved edge and powered by the Snapdragon 823 SoC or an equally capable Exynos chipset.

The handset is also rumoured to include an USB Type-C port, a 4000mAh battery, an iris scanner and a water-resistant body with IP68-certification, besides a native Focus app mirroring the BlackBerry version for improved productivity.
