Gabon are the host nation of the 2017 African Cup of Nations and they are pitted in Group A, along with Burkina Faso, Cameroon and Guinea-Bissau. The Panthers will play the latter in the first match of the tournament.

Guinea-Bissau have made it to the final stage of the AFCON for the first time. They are the tournament debutante and will be looking to create trouble to other three teams from the group to make it to the quarter-final.

José Antonio Camacho will be hoping Gabon can impress the home crowd by qualifying for the knockout stages, something Gabon failed to achieve in the previous edition of the African Cup of Nations.
