Fire breaks out at Singapore's Kovan hawker centre, no injuries reported

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) says that investigations are going on to find out the exact cause of the fire.

A fire broke out at a Kovan hawker centre in the early hours of Saturday. However, there were no immediate reports of any injury.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was informed about the fire at 209 Hougang Street 21 at about 2.15 am. It said that three fire engines, a Red Rhino and three support vehicles were immediately dispatched to the scene. The SCDF firefighters used two water jets and two compressed air foam packs to put out the fire.

SCDF added that investigations are going on to find out the exact cause of the fire. Dennis Thien, an eyewitness, told Channel NewsAsia that the fire had started in a dessert stall at about 2.15 am.
