A fire broke out at a private home at 57 Stirling Road, leading to the evacuation of several people. There are no reports of any injury. Firefighters had to engage four water jets to tackle the blaze.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said that they were alerted about the incident on Sunday afternoon and 2 fire engines, 1 Red Rhino, 2 fire bikes, 1 support vehicle and an ambulance were rushed to the scene.

According to the report, firefighters took half an hour to douse the flames. While both the floors of the two-storey terrace house were charred, SCDF somehow managed to prevent the fire from spreading to the adjacent houses. "A total of 12 residents were evacuated by the SCDF, including an elderly bedridden woman from an adjacent house. There were no reported injuries as a result of the fire," said SCDF, according to The Channel News Asia.

Police are still not sure about what caused the fire and they have ordered an investigation into the matter.
