SM Entertainment has released an update on the health of EXO member Lay. The boy group member who fainted right before boarding the plane at Incheon Airport, is reportedly doing fine.

According to the statement released by SM Entertainment, the 25-year-old fell unconscious due to tiredness and sleep deprivation: "Lay temporarily fainted due to lack of sleep. Thankfully, the doctor said all he needs is a good rest. Lay will be heading to the dorm to rest," the label said.

The South Korean band was boarding their flight to Hokkaido, Japan, when the incident took place. While Lay was immediately rushed to hospital, the other members too accompanied their friend, and decided to miss their flight. The band was apparently flying to the rising sun country for a concert at the Makomanai Sekisui Heim Ice Arena to be held on October 12-13.

Meanwhile, all the EXO members other than Lay will be heading for their performance in Japan. However, the main dancer of the group might not join them.

"He has a strong desire to attend the concert, so we'll make a decision after checking in on his condition," the label relayed.

In related news, two other SM Entertainment artistes, Red Velvet's Seulgi and Yeri, also went through dire situations on Monday. Both the girl group members sustained minor injuries while they were returning from a break in a taxi. The girls have been recommended bed rest, and the label has currently put a break on their future activities for the time being.
