Emma Watson has reportedly become a victim of a nude photo leak, which is allegedly a part of a larger release of stolen nude photos of the celebrities.

The news of the leaked nude photos became viral on the social media with reports stating nude pictures of Emma Watson and Amanda Seyfried were included.

What remains unclear is whether the leaked photos are legitimate or from where they originated. The leak was soon compared to the infamous 2014 leak, where a lot of celebrities were targeted, and was dubbed as 'The Fappening'.

It was reported that it happened because of a hack on Apple's iCloud backup platform for iOS devices. Later, however Apple claimed that the pictures were obtained by some low-tech hacking technique either by guessing passwords or by gleaning the information with some help from the targets.

At that time, Apple said in a statement: "After more than 40 hours of investigation, we have discovered that certain celebrity accounts were compromised by a very targeted attack on user names, passwords and security questions, a practice that has become all too common on the Internet."

It further added: "None of the cases we have investigated has resulted from any breach in any of Apple's systems including iCloud or Find my iPhone. We are continuing to work with law enforcement to help identify the criminals involved."

If the leaked nude pictures of Watson turn out to be legitimate, it will be a tough time for her as she is promoting her upcoming film, the remake of the Disney classic, Beauty and the Beast.
