EFL Cup fourth round draw: United host City, while Liverpool face Tottenham

Manchester United will have a chance to avenge their defeat against Manchester City when they meet in the EFL Cup.

Manchester United will face Manchester City in the EFL Cup fourth round tie at Old Trafford in October.

The two Manchester teams will meet for the second time in less than two months, following the first Manchester derby in which United lost 2-1 to their cross-city rivals on 10 September.

Jose Mourinho's men ended their three-match losing streak with a 3-1 win against Northampton Town in their third round of League Cup clash. Goals from Michael Carrick, Ander Herreria and Marcus Rashford sealed the game for United.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola's City extended their winning streak to nine in all competitions this season as they piped Swansea City 2-1 away from home to make the progress.

Tottenham Hotspur, who defeated Gillingham 5-0, will travel to Anfield to battle with hosts Liverpool for a spot in the quarter-final. Jurgen Klopp's unit earned their fourth round berth by defeating Derby County 3-0 on Tuesday.

West Ham United were helped by Dimitri Payet's late winner against Accrington Stanley. They now face Chelsea in their fourth round clash at home. The Blues displayed intent when they outshone Premier League champions Leicester City 4-2 in their third round tie on Tuesday.

Arsenal eased past Nottingham Forest 4-0 and will now host Reading in their Round of 16 match. Preston North End, who defeated Premier League side Bournemouth 3-2 on Tuesday, will travel to Newcastle. After stunning Everton 2-0, Norwich City will face a trip to Leeds while Bristol City host Hull City.

Southampton and Sunderland, who are struggling in the ongoing Premier League season, will face each other for a spot in the quarter-final.
