Descendants of the Sun star Song Hye Kyo runs into boy band leader Onew

It was a memorable reunion for two Descendants of the Sun co-stars at a recent event. The cleanliness freak medical student, and the very beautiful Dr Kang Mo Yeon experienced an unlooked for reunification, since the drama aired its last episode in April.

On 14 October, Hallyu star Song Hye Kyo updated her social media and shared about her pleasant encounter. Apparently, the 33-year-old bumped into Shinee's Onew at a wedding on Thursday night. The actress posted a selfie with the singer, and shared her overwhelming response.

"Jinki, whom I coincidentally ran into at a wedding!! Chi Hoon ssaem, it was nice to see you," she said.

Onew a.k.a Handsome Spacemen played the role of cardiothoracic resident Lee Chi-hoon in the popular KBS2 drama Descendants of the Sun. The leader of the boy band is quite affectionate towards Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki, and keeps on praising them for their dedication and achievements.

In an early interview, the 26-year-old shared his fondness towards Joong ki for making him feel relaxed during a hard phase. The Moonlight singer revealed: "I was completely edited out of the show's pilot episode. It was my first solid acting gig on screen, so I was pretty disappointed."

"Then, I received a phone call from Song Joong-ki telling me that he had gone through the same experience before. He comforted me by saying that everything will go uphill from then on and we as actors should try to view the work from the audience's perspective," Onew added.

Onew, whose real name is Lee Jin Ki, was awarded the Newcomer Scene Stealer Award at the 2016 Scene Stealer Festival for his role in the monster hit series.
