Overview

India are leading Group B after their comfortable victory over Pakistan in the first match of the tournament. A combined batting effort from the top order and an impressive bowling attack helped Virat Kohli's men seal 124 runs (D/L method) victory.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, suffered a defeat at the hands of South Africa in the other fixture that was played from Group B. Pakistan defeated the Proteas in the second match and a defeat to Sri Lanka is likely to end their chances of qualifying for the knockout stages.

A depleted Lanka side will welcome the return of their captain Angelo Matthews. However, their stand-in captain for the clash against South Africa, Upul Tharanga, has been suspended for two matches for slow over rate.
