A 37-year-old motorcyclist died on Wednesday morning after an accident on the West Coast Highway in Singapore. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the police said the accident took place on the highway towards Keppel Road at around 6.50 am. The SCDF paramedics pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) said the accident had caused congestion till Penjuru Road. The road was cleared at about 10.35 am. The police said investigations are going on. Several photos were posted by members of the public on social media showing two lanes of the road cordoned off by the police.
This latest accident is the third fatality on the same road in less than a month's time. On Oct 27, an e-bike accident involving a trailer killed two men and injured another at the junction of Pandan Crescent along the West Coast Highway.
