Who will win the glamorous showdown in Singapore is yet to be disclosed, as the 2017 WTA Finals presented by SC Global is preparing for the semi-final matches on 28 October, Saturday.

The First match of the semi-final day will be played between the world No. 3 Karolína Plíšková and the Dutch ace Caroline Wozniacki. The Czech player who was defeated by the youngest player of the tournament Jeļena Ostapenko on 26 October, Thursday, will be serving against Wozniacki for the ninth time since their first face-off in 2013 Miami Masters.

In a head-to-head count, Wozniacki has a 5-3 lead from Pliskova and will be fighting to maximize the lead in Singapore.

The second semi-final knock-out has been scheduled right after the first match, where the current world No. 8 will Caroline Garcia be battling against the WTA rank five player Venus Williams.

In a group stage match 27 October, Friday, the world No. 1 French ace Caroline Garcia defeated the former world No. 1 Wozniacki by 0-6, 6-3, 7-5.

On the other hand, the Ukrainian ace Elina Svitolina disappointed the top seed player of WTA Simona Halep after winning the battle by 6-3, 6-4.

The defeat of Halep and the victory over the Dutch ace Wozniacki on Thursday made the 24-year-old Garcia the top player from the red group and now she will be playing the semi-final match of 2017 WTA Finals.

The elder of the William sisters Venus previously beat the 2017 Wimbledon winner Garbiñe Muguruza on 26 October, Thursday and after her victory, she seeded to the semi-final match.

The semi-final match between Garcia and the 37-year-old Venus in BNP Paribas WTA Finals will be their third battle against each other. Both tennis players played their first match in 2014 Wuhan and the next one was in Beijing. Both right-handed players have won equal matches from their previous meet.

On the same day, two women's doubles semi-final matches are scheduled. The Swiss great Martina Hingis and her doubles partner Chan Yung-jan will be playing the first semi-final match against Hungarian Tímea Babos and Czech ace Andrea Hlaváčková on Saturday.

After the first doubles semi-final, the Dutch ace Kiki Bertens and her partner Johanna Larsson will be serving against the Russian Elena Vesnina and her compatriot Ekaterina Makarova.
